Based on IRS 2019 Q4 data released by by Media Research Users Council India (MRUC India) in May 2020, lets have look at the newspaper readership of Top 10 Newspapers in India​

According to the latest survey, by  Media Research Users Council India (MRUC India) Dainik Jagran a Hindi daily continues to be the largest read daily across the languages. Its Average issue readership stands at 1.68 Cr. Dainik Bhaskar another Hindi newspaper is at No. 2  with AIR of 1.55 cr.  Hindustan Hindi from HT Media at No. 3 with a readership of 1.32 cr.  Amar Ujala-Hindi daily held No. 4 position and its readership is 96 lakhs. While Malayalam daily Malayala Manorama retained No. 5 position with AIR of 85 lakhs.

Tamil newspaper Daily Thanthi at No.6  with AIR of 73 lakhs. Lokmat Marathi daily held its readership and jumped to No. 7 position with AIR of 62 Lakhs. Rajasthan Patrika hindi daily is at No. 8 with 58 Lakhs. The Times of India remained the largest read English & newspaper continued to be the ninth-largest newspaper across languages with AIR of 55 lakhs. Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi remained at No. 10  with a readership of 48 lakhs.
